Rhinoplasty : The deviated Bridge

Primary Rhinoplasty – Female in Her 20s

Goals
This patient in her 20s presented with a deviated nasal bridge, a small dorsal hump, and a broad nasal tip. Her goal was to straighten the nose, smooth the bridge, and refine the tip while maintaining a natural appearance that fit her face.

Procedure
I performed an open rhinoplasty with correction of the deviated septum and nasal framework. Spreader grafts were used to help straighten and support the middle vault. The dorsal hump was reduced, and osteotomies were performed to straighten and reshape the nasal bones. Alar rim grafts were added to support and refine the nasal tip and nostril margins.

Outcome
She now has a beautiful, straight nasal profile with a smoother bridge and a smaller, more refined tip. Her nose is more balanced with her facial features while maintaining a natural appearance. She loves her new look.

Key Principle
A straight septum is key to creating a straight nose. The septum forms the central structural foundation of the nose, so correcting an external deviation often requires addressing the underlying septal deviation as well. Creating a straight, stable foundation allows the bridge and tip to remain better aligned and provides a more predictable, lasting result.
