Rhinoplasty for deviated nose and septum

Functional Rhinoplasty – Female in Her 30s

Goals
This woman in her 30s had difficulty breathing following a nasal fracture that left her nose and septum deviated. Her primary goals were to breathe better and straighten her nose without making major changes to her overall appearance.

Procedure
She underwent an open functional septorhinoplasty with correction of the deviated septum and nasal framework. Spreader grafts and a septal strut were used to improve support and alignment, while osteotomies were performed to straighten the nasal bones. Rim grafts were added to provide additional support to the nostril margins.

Outcome
Her nose is noticeably straighter while maintaining her natural appearance. Most importantly, her nasal breathing improved significantly, and she was very happy with both the functional and aesthetic result.

Key Principle
Functional rhinoplasty can improve nasal breathing and correct post-traumatic deviation while preserving the features that make a patient’s nose look like their own.
