Goals
This patient in her 60s presented with neck laxity, loss of jawline definition, and aging of the lower face. She wanted her appearance to better reflect how youthful she felt and especially wanted a tighter, more defined neck. Her mother had developed significant neck laxity with aging, and she wanted to address these changes before reaching the same point. At the same time, she wanted to remain natural and still look like herself.
Procedure
After discussing the different options for facial rejuvenation, I performed a deep plane facelift and neck lift with conservative upper and lower blepharoplasty. The deeper facial tissues were repositioned to restore the lower face and jawline, while the neck was tightened and reshaped to create a cleaner, more youthful contour. The eyelid surgery was intentionally conservative, refreshing the eyes while preserving their natural shape and character.
Outcome
She now has a tighter, more defined neck and jawline, a refreshed lower face, and naturally rejuvenated eyes. The overall result is balanced and youthful without looking pulled or overdone. She is very happy with her result and tells me that she receives compliments all the time, while still feeling that she looks like herself.
Key Principle
Facial rejuvenation should be balanced both by the patient’s anatomy and by the patient’s individual preferences. Not every area needs the same degree of correction. The goal is to address what is anatomically necessary while respecting how much change the patient actually wants, creating a facelift, neck lift, and eyelid result that looks harmonious and natural.
