Goals
This woman in her 30s presented with mild breast ptosis and wanted fuller, more youthful-appearing breasts. She preferred to avoid a breast lift because she did not want the additional scars associated with mastopexy.
Procedure
After discussing the limitations of augmentation alone in the setting of mild ptosis, we proceeded with a dual-plane submuscular breast augmentation using 325 cc saline implants placed through areolar incisions. The dual-plane approach allowed the implants to provide additional fullness while accommodating her existing breast tissue and mild ptosis.
Outcome
She was very happy with the improvement in breast volume, shape, and overall proportions without undergoing a breast lift.
Key Principle
In appropriately selected patients with mild breast ptosis, a dual-plane breast augmentation can improve fullness and breast shape while avoiding the additional scars of a breast lift.
