Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty – Female in Her 70s

Goals
This patient in her 70s presented with aging of the upper eyelids and excess skin that made her eyes look heavier and more tired. She wanted her eyes to look more open and refreshed, but most importantly, she wanted to maintain their natural shape and still look like herself.

Procedure
I performed an upper eyelid blepharoplasty, carefully removing the excess upper eyelid skin while preserving the natural shape, volume, and character of her eyes. The goal was to improve the heaviness without creating a hollow or overly operated appearance.

Outcome
Her upper eyelids are now smoother and more open, giving her eyes a brighter, more rested appearance. She still looks completely like herself, just more refreshed and youthful. She is very happy with her natural result.

Key Principle
Good eyelid surgery should refresh the eyes without changing their natural shape or expression. Upper blepharoplasty is not about removing as much skin and fat as possible. Careful, conservative surgery helps preserve natural eyelid volume and allows the patient to look like herself, just more rested and refreshed.
