Female, 30s
Goals: This patient in her 30s wanted larger, fuller breasts with a more lifted position and greater upper-pole fullness. She wanted a shape that would allow her to comfortably wear certain tops without a bra, using only minimal coverage when desired. Improving breast symmetry was also an important part of her goals.
Procedure: A breast augmentation was combined with a full anchor-pattern breast lift to both increase breast volume and reshape and elevate the breasts. The lift allowed repositioning of the breast tissue and nipple-areola complex while addressing excess skin and optimizing symmetry. The implants provided the additional volume, projection, and upper-pole fullness she desired.
Outcome: She is very happy with her final result. Her breasts are fuller, lifted, and more symmetrical, with the perky, shapely appearance she wanted. The combination created breast proportions that complement her physique while giving her the freedom to comfortably wear the styles of clothing she had hoped to wear.
Key Principle: An implant can provide significant improvement in breast volume and upper-pole fullness, but it cannot always create the desired breast position and shape by itself. When there is enough skin laxity or breast descent, combining augmentation with a breast lift allows both volume and shape to be addressed independently, creating a fuller, more lifted, and better-proportioned breast.
